Fortnite - Exploit Makes it Possible to Rake in Easy Victories
Youtuber LazerBeam has published a video that show an exploit in Fortnite related to the use of helicopters, which - in a way that does not require confrontation with other players - enables a player to win the game.
Game exploits and bugs are nothing new to players. And while they often go unnoticed, in games with a community as large as Fortnite such a thing is practically impossible. User LazerBeam has published a video on his YouTube channel that exploits several bugs found by another user of the website, Glitch King, and easily secures a victory.
The latest game update has introduced helicopters. The machines can fit up to five players - four passengers and a pilot. The grappler has also returned. It is mainly used to move quickly and climb hills, but in case of exploit described in this news, it has a slightly different but nevertheless crucial role.
Helicopters have a altitude limit when it comes to climbing. It is 280 meters - it is a ceiling from which the crew is visible to other players and must take into account the possibility of getting hurt. However, if one of the passengers uses the grappler on a character who is piloting the machine, the helicopter will gain a bit more altiture. By repeating this action many times, we can find ourselves as high as 1000 meters above the map surface.
But be careful - if the helicopter rises too high, it can fly off the playable part of the map, which ends in the death of the character. Controlling the vehicle itself can cause problems, so be extremely careful to stay in the zone.
LazerBeam won the game using this bug and a fish, the consumption of which increases the character's health. The Youtuber lifted himself by helicopter to a height of about 500 meters, waited until the zone closed completely and started eating fish to renew the health points damaged by the zone. Soon the opponents on the ground got killed and he could enjoy a simple victory that did not require confrontation with others.
For a long time, bugs in Fortnite have been the subject of memes, often referring to the fact that developers are not very good at fixing bugs. Epic Games has even got some humorous disses sent their way.
Both LazerBream and Glitch King recorded their video for informational purposes, but will the devs fix the errors they have founf? Time will tell.
