For Actor Playing Arthur in RDR2, Only One Final Choice Is Canon; The Other Makes No Sense

During a Q&A session conducted on the Gamology channel, Roger Clark, the actor playing the character of Arthur Morgan in RDR2, revealed which choice at the end of the main plot thread of Rockstar's Western is canonical to him. The other, in his opinion, makes no sense.

Red Dead Redemption II is considered one of the best games created by Rockstar studio. The title gained recognition from the audience, among other things, thanks to the cowboy atmosphere and a moving plot with a bittersweet ending, which we have some influence on. At the very end of the story about Arthur Morgan, we have to make a crucial choice.

Choice

Warning! The following text contains major spoilers from Red Dead Redemption II.

After John Marston argues with Dutch and puts himself and his family in mortal danger, we have the choice to either assist him in escaping safely (an honorable act) or prioritize recovering the money stolen in Blackwater (considered dishonorable). At this point in the story, it's important to remember that Arthur is very sick with tuberculosis and has no chance of surviving.

What does the canon look like according to Roger Clark?

For Roger Clark, the voice actor who portrayed Morgan in the game, the canonical choice is clear - to assist John. Here is what he said on the subject during a Q&A series conducted by the Gamology channel on YouTube:

I've never seen much point of going back for the money. Arthur's days are numbered, what's money going to do him anyway? He might as well help John. So, I think going back to help John with high honor is my canon ending.

But of course, this is only Clark's view. If someone decides that their Arthur will be a greedy bandit focused solely on his own interests from beginning to end, then the ideal ending for him/her will be to return for the money. And there will be absolutely nothing wrong with that.
