Football Manager 2024 Launches Today; Freshest Installment in Years

Today marks the debut of Football Manager 2024, the twentieth main installment in the bestselling football manager series from Sports Interactive. The first reviews suggest a very good title.

Football Manager 2024, the twentieth main installment of the triumphant series of sports manager games from Sports Interactive, will hit store shelves today.

The game will debut in four versions:

  1. on PC it will be available as Football Manager 2024 (at launch it will be included in the PC Game Pass);
  2. on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and on PC (in the Microsoft Store) it will appear under the title Football Manager 2024 Console (it will be made available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers upon its release on Microsoft consoles);
  3. with iOS and Android mobile devices in mind, a separate release has been prepared, titled Football Manager 2024 Mobile (available for free exclusively to Netflix subscribers);
  4. for Nintendo Switch and iOS mobile devices (to be precise - for Apple Arcade) comes its version called Football Manager 2024 Touch.

Football Manager 2024 - price and availability

Football Manager 2024 will be put at our disposal at 8 a.m. PST. The game costs $59.99 and is available on the following platforms:

  1. Steam - until the game is unlocked, it can be purchased with a 10% discount;
  2. PlayStation Store - as on Steam, until 8:00 a.m. it can be purchased with a 10% discount;
  3. Microsoft Store - the 10% discount also applies here.

At the time these words are being written, Football Manager 2024 Mobile and Football Manager 2024 Touch are not yet available on Google Play, App Store and Nintendo eShop.

Football Manager 2024 - reviews and ratings

Metacritic reports that average of ratings given by industry media to Football Manager 2024 on PC is 83/100. Among the notes, strong 8s dominate, although there is no shortage of both 9s and 7s. Reviewers tend to agree that the changes introduced by the developers are most positive. For example:

  1. VideoGamer describes the item as an "excellent example" of what "annual releases" should look like and "a standard that all soccer games should adhere to."
  2. It is seconded by GGRecon, which writes that "Football Manager 2024 is a true return to shape for the series. Every novelty (...) seems important".
  3. In contrast, the editors of The Games Machine are waiting for a real revolution. It will take place in Football Manager 2025 - the game is being developed on the Unity engine, will offer a new animation system and will introduce women's teams.
  4. As if in contrast to the admiration of the game stands the review from Gamereactor UK, in which we can read that the number of novelties introduced by the developers is insufficient to buy the game at full price.

Football Manager 2024 - the most important novelties

Among the novelties introduced in Football Manager 2024 leading the way are:

  1. improved lighting, player animations and ball physics;
  2. new tactical options;
  3. an improved creator of fixed fragments;
  4. better strategic sense of other managers and a variable global transfer system;
  5. individual goals for each player.

  3. Memory: 4 GB RAM
