Final Fantasy XVI, Gotham Knights and Gollum May Appear on State of Play

Updated cards for several products on PlayStation Store may hint at what games we'll see during State of Play on this Wednesday. Final Fantasy XVI and Gotham Knights promise to be the highlights of the show.

When informing you on Friday about the next episode of State of Play, announced by Sony for this Wednesday, I was tempted to speculate that we might learn something new about Elden Ring or the new Crash Bandicoot. Most likely, however, my guess will turn out to be wrong - even before the announcement of the said show, a ResetEra user by the handle Angie noticed that several PlayStation Store product cards had been updated or created. It is possible that this revealed at least some of the titles that we will see on Wednesday.

This scenario seems all the more likely given the list of games provided by Angie - Final Fantasy XVI, Gotham Knights, Lord of the Rings: Gollum, Tchia, Dark Pictures Anthology and Voice of Cards (only the latter of which previously had a PS Store card) - should fit into the planned, roughly 20-minute timeframe. The main theme of the show would probably be the first of the game and the remaining titles would probably get new trailers.

However, it's worth to take this information with a grain of salt, because for example the appearance of product card for Dark Pictures Anthology could be connected with the launch of the third installment - subtitled House of Ashes - and reveal of the fourth one, The Devil in Me, which will conclude the first season. Nevertheless, it seems that we may indeed see some of these games on Wednesday; all of them come from third-party companies and have already been announced, and it's these titles that the upcoming State of Play is supposed to focus on. I don't know about you, but I'm eager to see how work on FFXVI is going.
