FIFA 20 - Demo, Gamescom News and Authentic Bundesliga
The first speculations about the release of the demo version of FIFA 20 have appeared in the Internet. We are analyzing the topic, as well as looking at new information from gamescom and the trailer presenting the „authenticity” of the Bundesliga.
The latest edition of the popular football series promises to be really interesting. In addition to the typical cosmetic changes to mechanics, FIFA 20 will introduce a number of necessary improvements to the following modes: Career, FIFA Ultimate Team and Virtual Clubs. What's more, the game will feature a completely new gameplay mode - VOLTA - aimed at fans of the aged, but still remembered FIFA Street. But before we spend a hefty amount of cash on the game, it would be worth saying "I call" to the devs.
Demo version
Such a possibility is given by the demo version of the game, of which, as usual, we know little. EA Sports has grown accustomed to the fact that information about the demo is officially published shortly before its release. It's probably gonna be the same this year. However, this does not prevent the guessing of a specific date for the demo's debut, as the same scheme has been repeated for several years. Each subsequent edition of FIFA is released on the last Friday of September (we do not count early access and other such "inventions"). The demo is released about two weeks before the release of the full version of the game - in the case of FIFA 19 it was September 13 and 28, respectively.
Dexerto has attempted to provide the exact release date of the demo version of the game and its content. According to their calculations, the demo can be expected on September 12, i.e. Thursday - two weeks before the release of the full version. The sample will be an advanced version of the build, known from the beta. What can we expect? Naturally, the base of any demo version is a quick match (unfortunately, also with a pre-defined running time for a half of the match - my bet is on 5 minutes). We will probably also see the new options of House Rules. However, taking into account the fact that VOLTA will debut in FIFA 20, we can be almost sure that EA will provide us with a foretaste of this mode two weeks before its release.
What kind of teams will we see in the demo? Dexerto guesses that they will be: Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain. In my opinion, however, the list will be a little longer. We had twelve teams in the FIFA 18 demo. The next installment offered 10 teams. Even if the downward trend is maintained, I would assume that the demo of FIFA 20 will allow us to play with at least eight clubs. I would definitely add Bayern Munich to the above list because this club was present in the two previous demos and because FIFA 20 is to provide the "maximum experience" of the Bundesliga (see below).
Probably we will also see several stadiums, including Signal Iduna Park, Santiago Bernabeu and Anfield Road - as the teams playing on them are regular partners in the promotion of the next installments of EA series. This year's demo will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (via Origin). We will probably find out at the beginning of September whether our predictions were right.
FIFA 20 on Gamescom Opening Night Live
During yesterday's Gamescom Opening Night Live we could watch a short trailer of the story mode. This time we won't be controlling Alex Hunter (or his family or friends) anymore, and the plot will let us experience what VOLTA is. The story mode allows us to create our own player with our own skin on which we can visit the biggest street football tournaments in the world and make new friends. The only question is, when playing the story mode, will we ever find ourselves on a real field to face our opponents in the Champions League?
Bundesliga like a living image
A few hours ago on the official EA Sports FIFA channel on YouTube appeared a short material, presenting the "maximum experience" of the Bundesliga in the latest installment of the series. In short: the creators made the matches of the German Premier League look almost as if they were real. To achieve this, 36 German teams (Bundesliga 1 and 2), 13 new stadiums and 180 player faces were added, as well as the implementation of the characteristic elements of the match transmission on television.
FIFA 20 will go on sale on September 27, this year. The title will be released on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
