'Dante is a Bizarre Version of Jason Momoa;' Fast and Furious Director on the Villain

Director of Fast X revealed that Dante could only have been created because Jason Momoa portrayed him. The Honolulu-born actor is usually cast in roles of tough guys, strongmen and warriors, but in the case of the tenth installment of Fast and Furious Louis Leterrier wanted the end result to be the opposite of Jason Momoa's typical image.

Leterrier then described how Dante turned into a distorted version of the Hawaiian actor, a vision that the actor gladly embraced.

It seems that viewers have accepted the character, although around the time of the premiere of Fast X there was no shortage of "family" jokes. However, these applied more to the series as a whole. After all, over the years, the movies moved away from depicting classic street racing and became action-packed, chase and explosion action flicks devoid of deeper meaning.

However, Michelle Rodriguez, who plays Letty in the series, has spoken positively about the participation of the new villain. A different opinion, however, was held by Vin Diesel, who reportedly sees Momoa as the reason for the movie's poor ratings.
