Far Cry 5 reveal trailer is here – meet the new villain and other characters
Ubisoft has officially announced Far Cry 5 and shared the game's reveal trailer as well as a couple of videos introducing some main characters.
Ubisoft has been teasing Far Cry 5 long enough before finally revealing the game today. In the official announcement, live-streamed worldwide, the publisher confirmed that the next installment in the popular first-person shooter series is set in modern-day United States, Montana. And yes, it is going to feature strong religious overtones. Far Cry 5 is going to launch on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on February 27, 2018.
The new bad guy in Far Cry 5 is Joseph Seed, a charismatic preacher and leader of a criminal organization, who manages to take control of a region in small-town America, cut it off from the rest of the world, and take his “flock” under his “protective wings” (which obviously involves cruel punishment of the unfaithful ones). The player, on the other hand, is going to assume the role of a currently unnamed junior sheriff, who starts a resistance against the crazy cult.
