Fan Recreated GTA Vice City Intro Using GTA 6 Trailer And Nostalgia Hits Hard
The new doesn't always have to be the enemy of the old. One Reddit user has paid a wonderful tribute to the iconic Vice City with shots from GTA 6 trailer.
"Vercetti remember the name!" - the protagonist of the iconic Grand Theft Auto: Vice City used to shout. Players have truly taken the words of the brash gangster to heart, as nearly 22 years after its release, the Rockstar North studio's super hit is still regarded as the greatest game in history. While such a bombastic statement may seem a bit exaggerated today, there's no doubt that Tommy Vercetti's story holds a prominent place in gaming history.
Vice City sold 17.5 million copies, becoming the undisputed hit of 2002. Reaching the top was a challenging task, as Rockstar Games' creation had to rival titles like The Elder Scrolls III, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, and Mafia. The success of Vice City was determined by a variety of factors, including extensive and suspenseful quests, a unique style inspired by Scarface, the Miami Vice series, and the atmosphere of sunny Florida, as well as a wealth of dark humor.
After 20 years, players continue to enjoy playing it and discover new ways to honor the classic.
Intro from Vice City, engine from GTA 6
Recently on the r/GTA6 subreddit, user nj_mods shared his love letter to the iconic action game. Using clips from GTA 6, he made a "remastered" intro to Vice City. Below you can watch the fan tribute to the gaming milestone.
Saying that nj_mods did his homework on nostalgia is like saying nothing at all. The refreshed intro from twenty years ago is quite impressive. What stands out above all is the meticulousness with which each shots of the intro were recreated. To make a comparison, it's worth recalling the iconic original.
