Fallout 76 Update Enables us to Run Our Own Distillery
Bethesda shared details concerning the Wild Appalachia DLC. The expansion will introduce the ability to brew and distil alcohol. The beverages will have different effects depending on fermentation time.
On the hundredth day after the release of Fallout 76 Bethesda published a schedule, presenting the game's development plans for the coming months. According to it, on March 12, the players should expect the start of an event called The Wild Appalachia and the introduction of new features in the game, which will be brewing and distillation of alcoholic drinks. The creators decided to share a few specifics about the upcoming content.
The road to becoming the most famous bartender in the wasteland is to start with the quest "Wasted on Nukashine", where we will get to know Biva - a robot that will enable us to create a new crafting bench. Establishing your own distillery in the camp will allow us to produce various types of alcoholic drinks, such as wine, beer or whiskey. Each type of alcohol we drink will have its positive and negative effects.
It is interesting that some of the beverages will require additional brewing time before they are ready for consumption. Moreover, the longer we allow them to ferment, the stronger the effects we can expect. The creators decided to divide the effects into "young" and "vintage". For example: consumption of young Firecracker Whiskey will result in the player and his opponents being set on fire during melee attacks. However, if we let is mature and drink after a longer fermentation period, then only our opponents will burn.
The "Wasted on Nukashine" quest and enabling us to brew and distil alcohol is just the beginning of a long list of new contents, which will be introduced in the spring by updates from the Wild Appalachia series. The players can expect new tasks and features, survival mode and season events.
