Fallout 76 Fans Pay In-game Tribute to Deceased Developer
The co-creator of Fallout 76, Eric „Ferret” Baudoin, who was also involved in the work on Dragon Age games, has passed away. Gamers have decided to thank him for his contributions.
Do you remember the death of Rick May, the voice actor providing the voice of the soldier from Team Fortress 2, and the following tributes? Fans of Fallout 76 also did not pass by indifferently in the face of the death of the person co-responsible for their favorite title.
Sad news
The former head of the project, Jeff Gardiner, conveyed on Twitter that chief designer of Fallout 76, Eric "Ferret" Baudoin has passed away. According to reports this happened as a result of complications following surgery to remove cancer. In the past, Baudoin was an employee of BioWare and worked on, among other title, the Dragon Age series. More recently, he was involved in the production of Starfield.
"I am heartbroken. [...] He was an eternal optimist and a dear friend. We met several times for lunch since I left Bethesda. He will be greatly missed," Jeff Gardiner wrote.
The sad news was not received with indifference among the gaming community, which expressed its mourning and said goodbye to "Ferret."
Players thank "Ferret"
On Twitter, fans under the hashtag #ThanksFerret published many works created in Fallout 76, with which they express gratitude for the contributions the developer has made to the world of virtual gameplay.
"[...] Fallout 76 gave me a community. It enabled me to make friends, which was difficult for me because of my autism. I received a family. It helped me get through homelessness and chronic illness. I received a home here [...]," thanked Captain Mal Seventy-Seven.
In addition, a fundraiser in support of Baudoin's family has been launch, as they are going through a difficult time right now.
