Fallout 4 will be getting beta updates on Steam starting next week
Fallout 4 will get a bug-fixing update next week. At first, it will launch in beta version on Steam, and later its full version will hit PC and consoles.
Fallout 4 is a game enjoyed by a few million players worldwide, but not a perfect one. Since its release fans reported many technical bugs and glitches, including a serious issue that makes the game crash in certain locations. Bethesda Softworks is aware of the problems and says a big update is coming up next week. This will be first available in beta version on Steam, then will get a full PC release to finally hit consoles. Other fixes will follow similar pattern. Devs are promising updates will be smaller but more frequent. This is a fragment of the official announcement:
”Our process for updating the game will include releasing a beta patch on Steam, followed by full release on PC, then release on the consoles. This process has worked well for us in the past and allows us to get more fixes out faster. Expect to see more updates, that are smaller and more frequent, than a few big ones. This allows us to make sure each fix is working right, as any change can have unintentional side effects in a game this huge. We expect the first beta patch to be up next week.”
Fallout 4 launched on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 10. Since then the game was purchased over 2 million times on Steam only, as reported on SteamSpy. Recently, Todd Howard said Fallout 4 would receive expansion packs based on players’ feedback. We can expect first DLCs to start showing up in 2016.
