Expeditions: Rome Trailer and Gameplay Video Available
Logic Artists announced the third installment of the historical RPG series, which this time is set in the times of ancient Rome. In Expeditions: Rome, we play a legionnaire winning glory during military campaigns in Greece, Egypt, and Gaul.
Danish studio Logic Artists has just announced the next installment of the Expeditions series, which includes the rather unique historical RPGs Expeditions: Viking and Expeditions: Conquistador. The new game is titled Expeditions: Rome and will take us to the times of ancient Rome. The devs have published two trailers for the game and shared the most important information about it. The release on PC is planned at the end of this year.
In Expeditions: Rome we'll play as a young hero named Legatus (in the editor we can define his or her gender, class, and starting skills). After the character's father was murdered due to political machinations, the protagonist joins the Roman army, where they gains combat experience and climb the ranks of the military hierarchy.
Legatus, together with the player, will take part in three large campaigns, in Greece, Egypt, and Gaul. The plot of Expeditions: Rome is inspired by real events and during the adventure, we will encounter many historical figures living centuries ago. The developers also emphasize that our decisions will have a huge impact on the story, as we can play both the role of a cautious diplomat and a ruthless conqueror.
The action of Expeditions: Rome will be presented in isometric view. During the adventure we'll fight our opponents in a turn-based tactical combat system, in which both passive and active skills, level, and equipment are important. During the fights, we will be accompanied by up to five companions. Each of them has a unique personality and history, which we get to know during the game. There are also strategic elements in the game that come down to managing the military camp and acquiring resources or territory.
