Expectations Were Low, but New BF2042 Content Went Even Lower
Battlefield 2042 awaits changes, including new content. Players, however, seem disappointed with what's coming to the game along with Season 1.
Yesterday DICE shared the content of season 1 in Battlefield 2042. The players did not have high expectations for the developers, but in the end they are still disappointed with the novelties announed for BF 2024 in June.
What's coming to BF in season 1?
The list of innovations is not too long. Players can expect a new map, specialist, weapons and vehicles. Additionally, the game will feature a combat pass and new weekly missions.
DICE will also update the Kaleidoscope map, improve animations and travel. It is imperative to note that the news revealed by the studio is not focused on season 1. It is a general outline of what we can expect this year.
It's safe to assume that while we'll only get information about the June season, there may be a bit more to it (though again - better not expect miracles). Below you can find the roadmap, an outline of the changes coming to BF.
Player reactions
We all know the reputation of Battlefield 2042. Hence the community's low expectations. Even knowing that, though, the content announced yesterday was received coldly.
"At this point they are just developing the game while we are playing it lol," wrote hi_im_new_bruh.
"Not gonna lie, I watched the recap video and I just feel bad for the teams working on this project. EA really screwed them over by releasing this game by force," wrote C__yb3rD3m0n.
"If I were someone who pre-ordered the game or bought it at all, I'd be pissed. It's a $20-40 expense at best. As a "live-service game" it should have a steady stream of content. And it doesn't. The roadmap is crap," wrote BushMasterFlex616.
So as you can see, the moods are far from being good. Nevertheless, the final assessment of what we will see in BF in June, should be held until the release of season 1.
