Evil Dead: The Game Support Ends; Switch Version Canceled
Evil Dead: The Game will no longer receive any new content. The developers have also decided to abandon work on porting the game to Nintendo Switch.
We have bad news for fans of Evil Dead: The Game.
- The studio responsible for the game, BossTeamGames, has announced the end of development of this production.
- This means that the developers will no longer prepare any new content for this title.
- The previously announced version for Nintendo Switch has also been canceled.
- The game itself will remain active on the platforms where it has already been released. The devs have no plans to shut down the servers, and if there are any technical issues, they will be fixed.
Recall that Evil Dead: The Game was released on May 13, last year, simultaneously on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PlayStation 5. It received several DLCs, and a Game of the Year Edition containing all DLCs was released this year.
The game was received quite warmly - it has 70% positive reviews on Steam, and counting only those from the last thirty days, as much as 82% of players praise the game. Unfortunately, the title has never managed to gather a large group of fans, which is painfully shown by the activity results - the all-time record is a mere 586 concurrent players on Steam, and yesterday's result was only 30 people on the servers.
