Even with Factorio’s Success, Crowds Still Flock to Another Factory-Building Hit. Satisfactory Devs Discussed Plans for Coming Months
Both Factorio and Satisfactory are achieving impressive activity results on Steam. Moreover, the latter title will be expanded with new content early next year.
The excellent Factorio received a substantial expansion called Space Age last week, which met with overwhelmingly positive reception from players and ensured record activity results. The title is so good that big names like Elon Musk are getting involved. However, this is not the only factory-building game that enjoys considerable popularity. We are talking here about Satisfactory, whose creators recently discussed their future plans.
Factorio and Satisfactory - activity results
As expected, the first weekend after the expansion's release Factorio established a new record for concurrent players, an impressive 118,674 users. Meanwhile, at the time of writing this text, as many as 40,371 players are overseeing their factories.
Its competitor Satisfactory also no reasons to be ashamed. Even though the record of over 186 thousand players was set last month, there are still a lot of people enjoying the game. At the time of writing this text, there are as many as 23,253 of them, and the 24-hour peak is 76,119 players.
Future of Satisfactory
In the latest video on Coffee Stain Studios' YouTube channel, community manager Snutt Treptow has shared some information regarding the future of Satisfactory.
- The game will soon receive update 1.0.0.5, which will be the last update before the Ficsmas holiday event (which will also be refreshed), focusing on various fixes. You will find details about its content in the video.
- A major update, numbered 1.1, is scheduled for early next year, and the only new feature confirmed at the moment is straight pipes.
- The team is considering developing a DLC, but before that, they want to find out from the community what content would interest them.
- The production will be released on consoles around early 2025. However, before that happens, PC players will have the opportunity to play on gamepads to test the new controls.
Let's remind that last month Satisfactory left early access, in which it was for 8 years, and received a substantial update 1.0.
