ETS2 Now With Feature Requested by Owners of Powerful GPUs
SCS Software has released update 1.48.5 for Euro Truck Simulator 2, which will introduce a long-awaited feature to the game.
On October 19 Euro Truck Simulator 2 will receive the West Balkans expansion. However, before fans of huge trucks embark on a virtual journey through the picturesque Balkans, an update preparing the game for the new expansion has been released.
According to information provided by SCS Software, the update, numbered 1.48.5 focuses "on several additions to the basic content, as well as mechanics fixes and code-based improvements." In short: this means that in addition to eliminating some bugs, the patch also introduces a couple of new features.
One of them is the FPS cap, which many owners of more powerful GPUs have been asking for. Some of them reported that after minimizing the game with the Alt and Tab keys, their GPUs were still running at maximum speed, trying to render the maximum possible number of frames. As a result, the developers imposed a limit of 300 fps.
Update 1.48.5 is also expected to have a positive effect on the game's first loading time after installing the patch. The developers have reportedly managed to shorten the process by as much as six times. The change also includes the loading of the company directory, which is initiated every time the game is launched. This will now be up to 23 times faster than in previous versions.
However, this is not the end of surprises for the players. Along with the patch, new locations (the city of Trieste), as well as refreshed ones (Ancona and Bari) have returned to the game..
Developers warned that due to the nature of the update, players who have taken an assignment in World of Trucks with the Road to the Black Sea DLC, may encounter some problems when trying to resume the assignment, which will require cancelling the contract.
