Euro Truck Simulator was released in 2012. The game is 11 years old. It means that console ports are very unlikely because creators had enough time to prepare one, isn’t it? Wrong! Developers did not forget about them, and the topic emerges on various interviews. However, there are obstacles, which have to be overcome. SCS Software wants to deliver regular updates and DLCs, making them compatible with various platforms is a difficult task. What is more, concentration on PlayStation and Xbox versions would make introduction of new content much slower. Taking this into consideration, chances for the Switch port are getting even slimmer but PS5 and Xbox fans will probably have a possibility to drive trucks on their devices one day.
To be more precise, you can play ETS2 on Xbox. It is not an official release though, and you have to use a 3rd party service. We talk about GeForce NOW, just stream the game on the console. According to various players, the title runs quite smoothly if you do that.
