Euro Truck Simulator 2: Iberia Will Get Free Scenic Roads

Euro Truck Simulator 2: Iberia will receive new, free roads. They are being prepared as part of training by map designers recently hired by SCS Software. The developers found them so good that they decided to add them to the game.

If you've already explored the entire Iberian Peninsula in the Iberia expansion for Euro Truck Simulator 2, we have good news for you. The developers at SCS Software intend to add new free roads to Spain and Portugal. They are to enable you to drive through more scenic areas than the highways already present in the expansion. Below you can take a look at a few screenshots presenting the upcoming content.

What's interesting, the creators of these new roads are map designers who were recently hired by SCS Software and were supposed to create them as part of their training. Eventually, the developers decided that the new routes were good enough that they could and should be added to the game. The developers hoped to please the community this way, and they succeeded - the answers under the developers' posts on both Steam and the official ETS 2 blog overflowed with positive comments.

For now, the developers have informed about two roads, but they do not rule out more. The first one is to stretch from the northern outskirts of Madrid - where it will connect the A-1 and A-2 freeways - and further along the Douro River, which reaches Portugal, where it flows into the Atlantic Ocean. The second will start near the city of Sines, south of Lisbon, and lead to Seville.

SCS Software has not announced when the new roads will arrive in ETS 2: Iberia, but judging by the screenshots provided, it will be within a few weeks at the most. We would also like to remind you that the developers are currently working on the eighth expansion for the game, titled Heart of Russia. It's supposed to come out next year and enable us to visit the European part of Russia.
