Escape from Tarkov Devs Went Wild on Twitch and Paid for It With a Ban
The developers of Escape from Tarkov got banned on Twitch. Alcohol and replica firearms in the background.
After the release of patch 0.13 for Escape from Tarkov the title began to attract more interest, which undoubtedly pleased the developers, Battlestate Games. A reason to rejoice for them is certainly not the fact that their Twitch channel has been temporarily blocked, as announced on StreamerBans' Twitter profile.
Ban for the creators of Escape from Tarkov
The ban on Twitch was imposed because of a New Year's Day broadcast during which the game's creators were enjoying themselves a bit too much. It is not yet known for how long their channel has been blocked, and no official information has been given so far regarding the reason behind the situation. On Reddit however, you can read comments from people who report that during the broadcast the creators were drinking alcohol and were aiming replica firearms at each other and it was mainly for this reason that the ban was imposed on them.
"There are plenty of rumors that they were targeting each other with airsoft/replica guns.... again," wrote hipofoto112
Everything happened during the annual multi-day event, which will last until January 7. For watching broadcasts of designated streamers, you can get free items to use in the game.
A discussion heated up in the comments, with participants ridiculing Twitch moderation for allowing broadcasts depicting nudity, and having a problem with firearm replicas. The behavior of Escape from Tarkov devs, however, is something forbidden by Twitch's policy and is considered "harassment, threats and violence against others."
Interestingly, in 2019 Twitch also banned Battlestate Games, after one of the participants in the broadcast pretended to take his own life. At the time, this was considered contrary to Twitch's policy against "self-destructive behavior."
