Elex 3 Possible Release Date - Sizable Funding Reveals Schedule
German studio Piranha Bytes has received major funding for the development of a new project. There is no shortage of suggestions that it is about a new part of the Elex series.
German website GamesWirtschaft reports that the local Ministry of Economy has invested a significant sum of money in the development of the country's gamedev. Among the beneficiaries of the program was Piranha Bytes, which will use the money to develop its latest project.
Elex 3 and a suggested release date
Although the government co-funded it, the project designated as WIKI6 has not yet been publicly announced, yes the media and gamers are clearly suggesting that under the mysterious codename is in fact the third part of Elex.
A clear indication of this is to be found in the suggested year of completion of the project - 2026. This date would coincide with the release cycle of the first two parts (Elex 2017 and Elex 2 in 2022). Despite somewhat colder reception of Elex 2 by the press and fans, Piranha Bytes' previous regularity in developing trilogies (Gothic and Risen) points unequivocally to another part of this RPG featuring unusual style combining sci-fi, fantasy and post-apo.
Generous donation
The donation made to the German studio totals more than 3 million euros.. The government money will finance almost half of the assumed cost of project WIKI6.
Piranha Bytes is not the only entity benefiting from the support of the German Ministry of Economy. Realmforge Studios (creators of Dungeons 3) and Fishlabs (Chorus) have also received significant backing.
Hopefully, the additional cash injection will enable the developers to spread their wings, while the potential Elex 3 will turn out to be the best installment of the series.
