Piranha Bytes Isn't Quite Done With Elex 2 Yet; MacOS Release Announced
Players are begging Piranha Bytes to fix the DirectX 12 version of Elex 2. Meanwhile, the developer has decided to release the game for macOS computers.
While it may have seemed that Piranha Bytes had already left Elex 2 in peace - the last "big" patch came out in April 2022 - the German developers have prepared a surprise for players. Their latest game will hit MacOS computers in June.
This surprises all the more because gamers still are asking for an update for the Windows version of the game released in November to support DirectX 12. It is riddled with bugs - some of which prevent the completion of individual tasks - but Piranha does nothing about it.
Perhaps this will change with the release of the game on Macs - for it was the DX12 version that served as the basis for the port. The Germans even boasted of its advanced technical features.
As a reminder, let me add that Elex 2 is likely to get a sequel.. It has already been announced at the end of the game, and recently we learned that the German Ministry of Economy has subsidized WIKI6 - the next project of Piranha Bytes, which is supposed to be Elex 3. The title will scheduled fore release around 2026.
