Elden Ring Devs Did Everything Possible to Remove All Security Gaps
FromSoftware has announced that Elden Ring will not suffer from security vulnerabilities similar to those recently discovered in the Dark Souls series on PC. We also found out when the online mode will return to the series.
Over two weeks ago we informed about the discovery of a dangerous vulnerability in the code of the PC version of Dark Souls III. It enabled hackers to remotely take control over the player's computer, and what's worse - it turned out to be present in all installments of the series released on PC. Promptly, their PvP servers were closed until FromSoftware fixes the issue.
Fans began to worry, however, that Elden Ring, set to debut on February 25th, may contain a similar vulnerability. Today, developers announced that they have taken all necessary security measures when developing the upcoming soulslike game for each of the target platforms - PC, PS4, PS5, XOne and XSX/S.
The community can therefore breathe a sigh of relief. The question remains, when will the online mode return to Dark Souls on PC. If you've read the message above carefully, you already know that it will happen after the release of Elden Ring - however, we did not know the specific date. We can only hope that the Japanese developers will fix the problem as soon as possible, and Elden Ring will turn out to be as good a game as it promises to be.
