Elden Ring servers will be temporarily shut down. From Software ordered a maintenance break to improve the game's online features (read: eliminate connection problems preventing some players from joining the multiplayer fun).

Technical break - Elden Ring server downtime hours

The technical break will begin on Steam on March 1 at 18 am PT, on PlayStation at 6 am PT, and on Xbox at 8 am PT. Servers should be turned back on after an hour.

Elden Ring on Steam Deck

From Software wasn't the only one to start making improvements to Elden Ring. Pierre-Loup Griffais, a developer at Valve, reported that the company is working on an update to improve the game's performance on Steam Deck. The patch will eliminate problems with animation dips and stuttering.

The patch won't be available until next week, but Valve is already letting us check it out in an experimental version.
