New Star Wars Game Only Next Year; New Details About EA Play Live 2021
Electronic Arts announced that no new Star Wars game will be shown at EA Play Live 2021. This means that FIFA 22 and Battlefield 2042 will be among the most important productions of the event.
If you were expecting that at the EA Play Live 2021 event Electronic Arts will announce a new Star Wars game then we have bad news for you. The American company announced today on Twitter that on the event scheduled for July 22 we can expect neither the continuation of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order nor any other fresh pgames from this popular franchise. The announcement of the next title set in a galaxy far far away will take place next year at the earliest.
Thus, we learned that EA Play Live 2021 will be devoted mainly to Battlefield 2042, which is to be released on October 22, as well as FIFA 22 (release on October 1) and other sports games (including Madden NFL 22). Of course, there's also the possibility that Electronic Arts has an ace up its sleeve that we don't know of - the likes of a new installment of Dead Space, The Sims and/or Need for Speed - but all indications are that July will be primarily about games that have been present in public consciousness for some time.
Less than two weeks ago a similar announcement was made by BioWare. Developers who have recently prepared quite a successful remaster set of the Mass Effect trilogy, announced that are working hard on the next part of the SF series, as well as the Dragon Age series, but it's still too early to reveal those games.
That doesn't mean EA Play Live 2021 isn't worth waiting for. We should see more gameplay footage from yesterday's Lost in Random, and perhaps the release date of this game from Zoink Games will also be revealed. For sure, we'll also find out about the new content, which will soon appear in the shooter Apex Legends, and we'll learn the details of the Legacy of the Sith sxpansion for the MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic.
