E3 2017 Essentials #2 (June 12) – Beyond Good & Evil 2, Shadow of the Colossus, Spider-Man
Ubisoft re-announcing Beyond Good & Evil 2, Sony showing off Spider-Man and Age of Empires getting a remaster - that's just the tip of the iceberg of great news we heard on the second day of E3 2017.
The second day of E3 saw three big conferences: PC Gaming Show, Ubisoft and Sony. All of them incited a lot of excitement, as we could see some big announcements (Beyond Good & Evil 2, at last!) and new trailers and gameplay videos from much-anticipated games. Here is a summary of the day.
PC Gaming Show
XCOM 2: War of the Chosen
The first announcement made at the stage was the first expansion to tactical strategy XCOM 2. War of the Chosen is going to introduce powerful new enemies, sent to hunt down the XCOM leader and sabotage the group – visit the official website to learn more.
BattleTech
Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord
Total War: Warhammer II
A new gameplay footage from Total War: Warhammer II presents a battle between the Lizardmen and High Elves. The next installment in Creative Assembly’s strategy game series is coming out on September 28, 2017.

Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds – new features incoming
Bohemia Interactive feats. Ylands
DayZ creators’ next game may be a bit surprising. Bohemia Interactive has announced Ylands, survival sandbox offering almost unlimited freedom. Players will mingle in diverse worlds made up of big voxels, and together they will shape the environment as they see fit.
Klei Entertainment’s Griftlands
Another reputed developer who announced its new game at PC Gaming Show was Klei Entertainment, best known for massively popular Don’t Starve. This one is Griftlands, a sci-fi turn-based RPG with hand-drawn 2D graphics.
LawBreakers
Cliff Bleszinski appeared on stage to announce that his online shooter LawBreakers is finally coming out on August 8, 2017. Before that, the game will be beta-tested starting August 28 through June 3. Here’s a new trailer:

Age of Empires: Definitive Edition
The last game announced at PC Gaming Show was Age of Empire: Definitive Edition. The remaster of the legendary RTS is going to feature 4K resolution, re-recorded symphonic soundtrack and improved gameplay. Head over to the official website to sign up for multiplayer beta.
Ubisoft

Transference
An interesting new IP has been announced by Ubisoft. Transference is an intriguing psychological thriller designed for VR headsets, starring Eliah Wood.
Skull & Bones
Revealed at Ubisoft’s E3 2017 conference, Skull & Bones is an open-world pirate game that looks a lot like Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag gone online. The game will invite players for an adventure in a shared world, where they will take part in spectacular sea battles.

Far Cry 5 first gameplay footage and new trailer
Beyond Good & Evil 2
Now that was a big one. Ubisoft left the best for last, and showed off an amazing trailer of Beyond Good & Evil 2. The game has been confirmed as prequel, but tightly connected with the events of the first Beyond Good & Evil. After the initial reveal, Michel Ancel talked a bit more about the game, explaining why we had to wait so long for the news:
So we waited for three years just working on the technology, so that now you can really travel across space, planets. But not empty planets. Or not empty, generated, whatever planets. Real planets with cities, logical connection between the cities. And even all the natural events that you could have on these kind of planets, gravity, all the moons, and all these things. We needed to make sure, before coming here today, making sure that we will deliver the game.
Players will roam about this big world either alone or with friends. Ancel also added: “It’s like GTA but in space, in three dimensions”. It’s all very exciting, but sadly, there is still no release date for the game.
Sony
Hidden Agenda
Prior to the conference proper, Sony has revealed several titles, including a new game from Until Dawn creators, Supermassive Games. The psychological thriller Hidden Agenda is more of an interactive film than a video game, but it includes some type of multiplayer experience.
Gran Turismo Sport
Tropico 6
The next installment in the Tropico franchise is being developed by Limbic Entertainment (creators of Might & Magic: Heroes VII), instead of Haemimont. Tropico 6 will be out for PC, XONE, and PS4 next year.
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
Sony’s conference was opened by an atmospheric trailer of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy – but no real news about the title has been shared.
Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds
This year Aloy will head north to face a new challenge in an icy-cold region of the world. Watch the reveal trailer of the Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds expansion:
Days Gone

Shadow of the Colossus
Shadow of the Colossus is getting another remaster, this time heading for PlayStation 4.
