Dying Light 2 Boxes Reach Players; Techland Asks Players to Wait for Day 1 Patch

Boxed copies of Dying Light 2 have already reached the hands of some players. Techland asks, however, that they wait until the actual release, when a so-called day one patch will appear, which will introduce „a number of fixes and improvements”.

The time of big game launches is just around the corner. The first to go is Dying Light 2 from Techland, which will debut next Friday, or at least its digital version - boxed copies reportedly have already reached some players. The developer has asked them to be patient and refrain from playing until the official launch, when the so-called day one patch will appear.. The patch will introduce "a number of fixes and improvements", developed after the game has gone gold.

Is this an indication of the gane's poor technical condition? Not necessarily. Techland may just be playing it safe - as the lead designer of Dying Light 2 Tymon Smektala did last week. He asked fans on Twitter to maintain respect for the developers and their hard work when sharing their opinion on the game - whatever it may be.

The situation should become a little clearer later today, when the embargo on reviews will be lifted and we'll get to know the first opinions of the industry media. Is there anything to look forward to? We'll see. Positive reception of Dying Light 2 may to some extent reassure fans who reacted not very optimistically to the news that game will use the Denuvo anti-piracy DRM system.
