Dune Spice Wars Now in PC Game Pass; Flying Units Added
Strategy game Dune: Spice Wars debuted in Game Pass and received a major update, bringing a number of interesting changes.
The strategy game Dune: Spice Wars has been added to the PC Game Pass subscription offer. On this occasion, the devs at Shiro Games released another update for the game. The patch is titled Air & Sand and it brings many new features.
- Each faction received two new flying units, and with them, air combat was added to the game.
- The game has added two new resources. The first is Guild Favor, which is the favor of the Guild required to field flying units. This resource can be used by everyone except Fremen, who have been given the ability to accumulate Machine Scrap by destroying machines and raiding villages, which can then be used to construct flying units.
- The system governing the behavior of projectiles has also been improved.
- The game world was enriched with an additional enemy faction, led by AI in the form of Renegades, who will take control of neutral villages.
- Several new buildings have also been added, including barracks that allow for modification of equipment of combat units.
- AI on all difficulty levels has been improved.
- Multiplayer has been improved - limits on the use of pause have been lifted, and players who leave the game are replaced by AI.
- The list of single player modes has been enriched with a Solo vs AI Kan variant.
- There were also many fixes for bugs, interface and gameplay balance.
Recall that Dune: Spice Wars debuted in early access in April, this year. The game is available exclusively on PC. Version 1.0 is expected to be released in 2023.
The game was quite a success. It was the biggest bestseller on Steam in the week of its release. Also its reception was warm - 81% of player reviews praised Dune: Spice Wars, which is categorized as a "very positive" reception.
