Ton of Novelties in New Update for Dune: Spice Wars

The first major update of Dune: Spice Wars brings a lot of good things to the game, including new content and useful improvements.

Dune: Spice Wars has received its first major update since the launch in Early Access. Previous patches were limited to fixing the more troublesome bugs - today the players received much more.

Something new...

Community Update #1 introduced additional content to the game. This includes two new special regions (White Rift and Acid Lake) and new bonuses for all parties for 10,000 points of hegemony. An example of the latter is the Harkonnens' ability to convert captured enemy agents to their side.

The first update also includes numerous features that the players have been requesting since the release. The game finally enables us to set the command queue for units - just hold down the Shift key while issuing orders with the right mouse button. In addition, there is a new battle view (available under the F3 button), an optional automatic pause when opening menus, and much more.

The drones have not been forgotten either, which thanks to the update - and we quote - "now beep boop". Now that's something.

...and improved

A lot of attention has also been paid to improvements of the existing systems. The load and save menus have been reworked to make them easier to use, and the ability to add custom file names has been added. Changes have also been made to the economy tree, the recognition interface, and the red ride, among others.

The gameplay balance has also been examined. Stealth drones, for example, are now slightly more powerful and have a longer range, but they pay for it with a much lower resistance to attacks.

Although the patch notes provided in the announcement on Steam are long, the developers have not listed all the fixes and improvements.
