Doki Doki Literature Club Will Get an Expanded Version
Dan Salvato's popular visual novel adventure game will receive new content 4 years after its release and will debut on other platforms.
The popular Doki Doki Literature Club will receive expanded content and will appear on consoles. This was announced by Dan Salvato on his twitter account. The refreshed version will be called Doki Doki Literature Club Plus.
The game will include a new mode, which has been named "Side Stories". Salvato describes it as "six stories about friendship and literature unrelated to the events of the original game." Each story will focus on two heroines and their relationships. In addition, a music player with a total of 26 songs (including 13 new) will be built into the new release, and a collection of 100 artworks will be waiting to be unlocked. The title will also receive a visual refresh, but the plot and gameplay will remain unchanged.
Doki Doki Literature Club is the debut game by Dan Salvato. The title is stylized on the visual novel genre. In the game, we play as a high school student who joins the eponymous school literature club, consisting of four girls. At first, Salvato's work resembles a typical dating simulator, but with time the player finds out that the charming and colorful setting is only a facade hiding the game's true 4th wall-breaking character.
The "Plus" version will appear on PC, PlayStation 4, 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch on June 30, 2021.. For owners of Sony or Nintendo devices there is an opportunity to order a limited physical copy of the game at a price of approximately $29.99.
