Discord's Game Subscription Service Goes Offline
Almost a year ago Discord introduced a game subscription. Unfortunately, the catalog of Nitro Games was not to the liking of the players. Therefore, the company has decided to resign from the service and will switch it off in mid-October.
Discord is currently one of the most popular applications for communication between players. The program is legible and very simple to use, which makes it easy to meet the tastes of consumers. In October, it will be a year since the company decided to expand its services to include Nitro Games catalog, which provided monthly or annual access to a set of games. It turns out that although the idea seemed great, the vast majority of Nitro subscribers decided not to use it.
On the official Discord blog there is a message in which the creators explain the situation. Due to the low level of interest of the players, Nitro Games catalog will be removed on October 15, 2019. Moreover, users who would like to unsubscribe from Nitro for this reason, can count on a refund. To do this, please visit this website. It is also worth noting that the games purchased on Discord will remain in your library and you can still buy new titles in the application. There's no need to worry about Nitro Game Perks, as your items from them will remain intact.
Creators comment that with this change they will receive the necessary funds to improve their Nitro subscription. The subscription will still cost $9.99 per month, but the company allowed uploaded of files up to 100mb (previously only 50mb could be uploaded) to be transferred. However, the number of boosts necessary to reach level 3 has decreased from 50 to 20. Let us remind that just over a month ago we informed about Discord's new service - Go Live. This enables you to stream your gameplay directly to your friends. The service launched on August 15 and resembles Share Play from PlayStation 4.
Despite the fact that Discord has opted out of Nitro Games catalog, it still has plans to expand. In the message we can read that programmers will continue to listen to the voices of users and will not stop adding further improvements to the application.
