Discord Develops Xbox App and Will Support Direct Streaming
A new feature is heading to Xbox consoles. Those who have integrated Discord into their console will be able to broadcast their gameplay live.
If you are an Xbox user then you probably know that the console is integrated with Discord. Currently, it enables you to join voice chats and chat with friends. However, it will soon receive another feature - the ability to broadcast gameplay.
These reports come from the editor of The Verge, Tom Warren. In a video posted on YouTube, he shows what the new feature looks like in practice.
- After connecting to the voice channel, under settings, you will see an option to start live streaming. When we select it, other people will be able to watch our stream from within Discord without any problem.
- Of course, Nitro subscription holders will also be able to change the video quality settings.
- Those on voice time via Xbox consoles will still not be able to watch other users' streams.
The feature is currently only available in closed alpha testing. Those interested must be patient, as it is not known exactly when it will be made available to all users. Warren suggests that it will be released in the coming months.
It's also worth remembering that this is not the only news heading to Xbox Series X/S consoles. At the end of July a completely improved version of the main menu was presented.
