DICE Unveiled Three More Maps for Battlefield 2042
A new trailer for Battlefield 2042 has been released, offering a first look at the three new maps that will appear in the game - Renewal, Breakaway and Discarded.
There's not much time left until the official release of Battlefield 2042, so the advertising campaign for the latest installment is in full swing. Recently, a new video has appeared online, showing the latest installment of DICE's famous FPS series in action. Without prolonging, we invite you to watch it.
The footage offers the first look at the three new maps on which we can fight in Battlefield 2042. Each is to have "multiple distinct combat areas", allowing for simultaneous close and long-range combat, both on foot and using various vehicles. There will also be various architectural structures for players to strategically use and climb (via PC Gamer).
The aforementioned elements are all common features of the maps presented in the video. However, let's take a closer look at what makes them different. Let's start with the first of them, Renawal. It's located in the Egyptian desert. In one part of it there is a solar power plant, and in the other a research facility. They are separated by a wall, which can be crossed in several places. Obviously, the hardest fights will take place in these choke points.
The second map presented by DICE is Breakaway. It will take the players to Antarctica, where they will fight on an oil rig located on a frozen coastline and its surroundings, full of cliffs and cracked glaciers. Proper use of the gliding outfit can give us quite an advantage on this map.
The final map shown in new footage from Battlefield 2042 is called Discarded. It enables you to visit the coast of India. Its main attractions are a flooded village and a half-demolished hull of a massive container ship. The wreck can be entered, which will certainly give the opportunity for many close-range clashes.
