Diablo Immortal Release Date Leaked; Blizzard Says It's a Placeholder
Diablo for mobile devices will be released faster than we think. That's what fans of the series claim based on the developers' recent activity.
Release Date of Diablo Immortal has appeared on the App Store, but after a while it was removed. One Reddit user published a screenshot, however, which suggests that we can expect the game on June 30, 2022.
Blizzard has responded to the issue:
"We want to make it clear that June 30 is not the official launch date of Diablo Immortal, and this is just a placeholder for the time being as we lock in our final plans."
The developers have also announced that the game will get a full-fledged announcement once all plans are approved.
There have been numerous voices online that the title has a good chance of coming to players' phones even sooner. That's because Blizzard announced the game's release for the first half of this year, coming to an end on June 30th. So this is the last possible date, if the devs want to avoid breaking this promise.
Another argument for the imminent release of Diablo Immortal is the post on Twitter and Instagram, published by the developers on the same day as the App Store leak. It encourages users to pre-register in exchange for exclusive cosmetic extras. The seemingly coincidental date of publication of both information does not have to be a coincidence.
Four years have passed since the famous announcement of the mobile Diablo at the Blizzcon 2018. During the panel the games was called an out-of-season April Fool's joke and sparked deep controversy among fans of the series. There's a good chance that over the coming weeks we'll find out if this idea really was that bad.
