Diablo 4 might be in works; Blizzard listed job offers for an unannounced project
Blizzard Entertainment is working on an unannounced Diablo-related project. Newly posted job offers suggest it’s going to be a full-fledged game and not just an expansion. Could this be Diablo 4?
Fans on Diabloii.net spotted interesting job offers listed on the Battle.net. It looks like Blizzard Entertainment are preparing an “unannounced project” under the Diablo IP and looking for lighting artist, senior character artist and senior concept artist for that. Although these are not the first offers to be found there, these ones include some interesting expressions that blatantly suggest something big is in store. On of the job descriptions reads:
“Blizzard Entertainment is seeking exceptionally skilled and passionate senior concept artists to help drive the vision of characters and worlds in our next hit game! We’re looking for artists that are self-starting, versatile, and enjoy being part of a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate shares our sensibilities, loves dark medieval worlds, and feels there are countless stories left to tell in the Diablo universe!”
This might well turn out to be another expansion to Diablo III, but there are reasons to believe Blizzard is already woring on the next full-fledged installment in this cult dark fantasy action RPG series. Pay extra attention to such phrases as: “next hit game” and “stories left to tell in the Diablo universe”. Other descriptions mention: designing new “characters, creatures, and weapons in the Diablo universe” and “the challenge of illuminating the dark medieval worlds of Diablo”.
