Denuvo in Monster Hunter Wilds seems to work normal after initial issues. Anti tamper and something went wrong errors were common
One of the monsters that scare gamers the most can be found in MH Wilds - Denuvo. It can be responsible for problems which players had with launching the game, yet interestingly, the issues seem to have faded now. Here you'll learn the full story.

It is a common thing among players to put all the blame on Denuvo when it comes to games’ optimization. However, it often seems unfounded, and the current tests and analysis done over the Internet are ambiguous at best. We could have expected that this anti-tamper system will be present in one of the biggest hits of this year – Monster Hunter Wilds. Also, what should not be surprising, MH Wilds have technical problems at launch (at least for some), which can be experienced in so many titles recently, like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 or Civilization 7. Many fans obviously see their source in Denuvo, and surprisingly those allegations seem to be somewhat valid this time around. After some time, anti-tamper error has passed, though, everything appears to be working as normal again. Additionally, many players saw “something went wrong” errors, which are also less frequent now. What’s going on? Let’s find out.
Is Denuvo responsible for MH Wilds not launching?
We had all the rights in the universe to have doubts about the technical state of MH Wilds, as during the beta tests the developers ensured that optimization will be included in full version of the game. In gamer’s dictionary “Denuvo” and “optimization” just don’t mix, and as expected, many fans had issues with launching the title because of “Anti-Tamper” and “Sorry something went wrong” errors. What is interesting, however, is that those seem to be gone now.
It has been found that the previously mentioned problems can be solved pretty easily by either restarting Steam, verifying game files, running the title’s executable as an administrator, or restarting the computer altogether. Some of the players believe that those challenges were caused by communication issues with Denuvo servers, which is plausible, because now, everything seems to be back to normal.
It wouldn’t be surprising that the Anti-Tamper couldn’t withstand the wave of hunters wanting to tread the Forbidden Lands in search of prey. Thus far, at its peak, MH Wilds gathered almost a million fans in front of their screens (via SteamDB), which is an astounding result. Comparing that to the number of overall reviews (3000, out of which only 42% are positive at the time of writing this text) we can imagine that vast majority of players enjoy the game in at least decent performance, not having time to write neither positive nor negative opinions.
Hopefully, soon we will see further patches including performance adjustments. Happy hunting!
