Space dwarf simulator aka. Deep Rock Galactic or DRG, has entered new season last week. This caused a huge spike in popularity of the title once more. The update gathered more than 30,000 fans on steam only. The players wanted to check out what the developer, Ghost Shop Games, has prepared for them. With all the amazing new content in store, there is still one topic that pops up every time there is a fresh patch – where is Barrel Armor. What it is? Will it be back? Here you will learn more.
What is Barrel Armor
Barrel Armor is exactly what it says it is – an armor made out of barrels. It has never been a part of a main game as it was introduced only in the Experimental Branch of DRG and removed from it right before Update 15. All of this happened way back in 2018, yet players are still asking the devs for it. It has become a running joke in the community.
In one of the Q&As, we have learnt that this armor was created 7 years ago. The whole development process of creating this piece has taken 30 minutes.
Will Barrel Armor be back in DRG?
Surprisingly, it is not as impossible as it may seem. The developer who created Barrel Armor, informed in the aforementioned Q&A that due to the number of requests they are getting about the armor, it is possible that they will look into readding it. The creators have not stated anything officially though and have not provided any timeframe for potential re-release of this item.
All of that doesn’t mean that you are not able to give this legendary (or memeful) armor a try. Fans were so enchanted by this creation that they have created mods that allow Barrel Armor to be equipped and used.
