Deathloop Gone Gold and Launching Next Month
Arkane announced that Deathloop has been completed and will debut as planned this September.
- Developer: Arkane Studios
- Publisher: Bethesda Softworks
- Genre: action game
- Platforms: PC, PS5
- Release Date: September 14, 2021.
We have good news for fans of the Arkane's work. The French branch of the studio located in the city of Lyon has announced that Deathloop has gone gold. This means that work on the game has been completed and we don't have to worry about any delays (Cyberpunk 2077 was a rare exception).
Deathloop was originally supposed to debut last year. The debut was first moved to May 2021, and then the creators were forced to postpone the release by four more months. Delays were caused by the need to refine the project and the problems arising from the coronavirus pandemic.
Deathloop is coming to PlayStation 5 and PC. The game will be released on September 14, this year, simultaneously on both hardware platforms.
The game is being touted in the media space as a "PS5 exclusive," but it's virtually certain that it will eventually make its way to the Xbox Series X/S as well, as Microsoft now owns Arkane. Sony has a one-year exclusivity deal, so the port would appear in September 2022 at the earliest.
It is worth adding at the end that this month we will have the opportunity to see extensive fragments of gameplay. Deathloop will be one of the projects shown during the virtual event QuakeCon at Home 2021, which starts on August 19.
