Death Stranding's HDD Space Requirements Revealed
We found out how much disk space Death Stranding will require. Compared to other big open-world games Hideo Kojima's latest work takes up quite a standard (which doesn't mean it's small) amount of space.
Less than a month before the launch of the latest work by the famous Hideo Kojima, Death Stranding, we learned its HDD space requirements. The information saw the light of day thanks to the Best Buy store, and more precisely - it appeared on the photo showing the back of the limited edition box of the PlayStation 4 Pro console, decorated with a graphic motif from this item.
As it turns out, players will have to prepare for this title at least 55 GB of free space on the hard drives of their PS4. It can be expected, however, that on the day of launch, the game will receive a more or less extensive patch, so to make a room for it, it will be worthwhile to leave a few dozen or so free gigabytes of reserve.
And how does the size of Death Stranding compare to other large open-world productions? For example, Cyberpunk 2077 for PlayStation 4 requires at least 80GB of free space, Days Gone needed 67GB (but it's worth noting that the number also includes the released update), and Red Dead Redemption 2 boxed requires 99GB on the release day (for PlayStation 4). The work of Kojima and his team is therefore quite extensive, but not the among the most extensive bunch.

Speaking of Death Stranding itself, however, although the closer it gets to the launch of this production, the less enigmatic it becomes, to a large extent it still remains a mystery. On the one hand, we could already see the long gameplay presented by Kojima himself, but on the other hand, the dev himself admits that he does not fully understand his work; all because in his opinion the title will represent a completely new genre (the so-called "strand games"), whose further existence will require the creation of sequels. However, at the end of September the Kojima Productions team announced that they had finished working on this project, so on November 8 we will finally see what the Japanese developers have prepared for us.
