Bohemia Interactive is Working on DayZ 2
Thanks to court documents, we learned that Bohemia Interactive studio is working on DayZ 2.
The trial, which began last week in California hearing on the approval of Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard proved to be an extremely valuable source of information on the industry giants' past and future plans. The latest fruit of this has been confirmation that DayZ 2 is in the works, a sequel to the hit online survival game.

- Bohemia Interactive is listed there as one of the studios Microsoft is looking at in the context of a possible acquisition.
- The studio description states that Bohemia Interactive is currently working on three projects -. Arma Reforger, Arma 4 and DayZ 2.
- Arma Reforger already debuted in early access last year, and the existence of Arma 4 has been known for quite some time. So only the reveal that work is underway on DayZ 2 is what is new here.
- DayZ 2 is likely to be released in a distan future. We expect the game to debut only after Arma 4.

The correspondence included another interesting piece of information. Microsoft employees report that Bohemia Interactive is satisfied with how DayZ is doing in Game Pass on Xbox consoles. The team, on the other hand, is reluctant to make the game available on the PC version of the service. This is not surprising, since the studio's fan community is mostly PC gamers. DayZ has not appeared in PC Game Pass until today, so as you can see, Microsoft has failed to convince the developers.
Recall that DayZ was born as a modification for Arma 2. Its success led the mod's creator to join Bohemia and begin work on a commercial standalone version of the project, which debuted in 2013 in early access, and five years later version 1.0 was released.
