Cyberpunk 2077 Regained Player Trust; Reaches Important Milestone on Steam After 2.5 Years
Cyberpunk 2077 keeps pushing upwards all the time. The game by CD Projekt RED has just reached an important milestone on Steam.
Popularity of Cyberpunk 2077 has been full of ups and downs. Shortly after its release, the game scored a record 1,054,388 simultaneous players, but that number quickly dwindled after users began to rightfully complain about the game's numerous bugs, through which the title received more and more negative reviews. That, however, was 2.5 years ago. During that time, CD Projekt RED released quite a few patches to improve gameplay and introduce some content. In the end Cyberpunk managed to reach an important milestone on Steam.
Cyberpunk is gaining in the eyes of players
At the end of October 2022 I informed about the fact that following the release of Edgerunners and the release of patch 1.6, Cyberpunk 2077 boasted up to 90% positive reviews over the past 30 days. Now it turns out that the game has broken another barrier, namely, it received a "very positive" average rating on Steam, in the context of all posted reviews, of which positive reviews are already 80%.
Let's point out that this is not the result of any recently released patch, because the last major update came out on April 11 and introduced Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode technology (only owners of Nvidia 40-series and RTX 3090 GPUs can take advantage of it). It can therefore be noted with a fair degree of certainty that the growing appreciation towards Cyberpunk is due to the fact that it is currently a piece of good gaming.
It's also possible that an increasing number of people are being convinced by the game, tempted by the fact, that on September 26 the Phantom Liberty DLC will launch and the fact that the game was recently available at a discounted price. Finally, let's add that the DLC will hit PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
