Cyberpunk 2077 - Players Ask for an Official Cookbook

During a recent conversation with the creators of Cyberpunk 2077, fans asked about the possibility of publishing a cookbook with recipes from the universe. An uncertain but enthusiastic answer was given by Miles Tost from CD Projekt RED.

The second episode of Night City Wire brought with it a handful of details about Cyberpunk 2077. However, some players decided to learn a little more. The opportunity came immediately after the broadcast. A handful of creators from CD Projekt RED, headed by Pawel Sasko, organized a Q&A session on the game's Discord. Therecording and transcrip of the conversation was posted by Netrunner.

Fans would like a publication of recipes from the world of Cyberpunk 2077.

During the session (about 16 minutes on the recording), one of the players asked about the possibility of publishing... a cookbook with recipes from the world of Cyberpunk 2077. Miles Tost, senior level designer at CD Projekt RED, received this proposal enthusiastically, although he said that YouTube users will probably take up a similar project sooner then the devs. When the player jokingly suggested that Tost ask his boss for permission, the designer admitted that they eventually succeeded with the chair (in which he referred to the Cyberpunk 2077 gaming chair from Secretlab).

Contrary to appearances, the idea is not entirely absurd. Official cookbooks were given to fans of such series as Destiny and Overwatch. Also in the case of Cyberpunk 2077 there would be some recipes that fans might want to try out. Take for example the Silverhand Drink, a cocktail inspired by Johnny Silverhand, ordered by Jackie in one of the game presentations. Tost revealed that the drink was prepared by a cocktail enthusiast from CD Projekt RED and shared the legend of its creation in the world of Cyberpunk 2077. As he said, Johnny Silverhand was once said to have tried classic tequila, but he didn't like it until he added beer to it. The creator also laughed that some recipes would probably use rats.

Apart from gastronomy, the majority of the session focused on behind-the-scenes of the development. The issue of Takemura's identity was also raised (Tost refused to comment), as well as the presence of no-weapon zones (there are several of them). Of course, there was also a question about the possibility of personalizing the genitals, although at this point the designer considered it appropriate to end the session.

Cyberpunk 2077 will launch on November 19, on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. There are also plans to release it on ninth generation platforms: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
