Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty Officially Announced; Trailer Available [UPDATED]
Today's Night City Wire stream showcased the story DLC for Cyberpunk 2077. Check out Phantom Liberty's trailer.
Update
CD Projekt RED has officially confirmed that Specter of Freedom is the only planned expansion for Cyberpunk 2077. The studio did so by responding to one of the comments under the DLC's trailer on YouTube.
Original message
Phantom Liberty is a major story expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, which is expected to be released next year. However, not all players will be happy; the expansion will be released exclusively on next-generation consoles and PCs. The first short trailer for the DLC was shown during today's Night City Wire stream - you can watch it below.
The expansion is set to take place in a Night City district we haven't seen before. In Phantom Liberty, as the name suggests, the storyline will be tied to the New United States of America (and possibly its liberation?).
Keanu Reeves himself appeared during the presentation on Night City Wire. As he did at E3 in 2019, with his appearance he announced the (rather obvious) presence of Johnny Silverhand in the game.
"Hey everyone. Johnny Silverhand is back. And so am I. Look out for new info [about Phantom Liberty - Editor's note], and see you back in Night City."
Since Silverhand will be present in the DLC, the expansion will certainly not be a prequel to the base game. However, we don't know how big a role Johnny will play in the expansion.
For now, no more details have been revealed about the Phantom Liberty, however, since it is to be a major expansion, we will most likely to be accordingly priced.
