During a Twitch stream, Pawel Sasko, the main task designer at CD Projekt RED, spoke about Cyberpunk 2077 and answered the accusations and questions concerning the game's condition right after launch. WVisibly touched, he confessed that the game's problems were related to the great ambitions of its developers.
"We have reached for a new IP, we tried to learn as much as we cand, and our goals had been super ambitious. I don't feel like you... that gamers and journalists fully understand how difficult it was to make this game."
At the same time, Sasko pointed out that this doesn't mean trying to put the blame on the players or taking away their right to show dissatisfaction.
"I'm not saying that you guys should be giving us more credit for it, because you should demand a fully functional, well-done game, and that's your right. The thing that I'm talking about is more of an acknowledgement that it was a very difficult game to make, a very ambitious one, and we tried to pull off as much as possible on all fronts. I think we've done a lot of that, and a lot still needs to be improve."
The above answers clearly show how negative the issues and controversies surrounding their game can be for developers. Sasko's honest approach made many players look at the situation from his perspective. Among the comments on Reddit there were many users who began to sympathize with the devs.
