Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.06 Fixes Save File Size Issue on PC

Cyberpunk 2077 just got another set of improvements. There aren't many of them, but the developers fixed the issue with a certain annoying bug in the PC version of the game.

When complaints about the technical condition of Cyberpunk 2077 (mainly on consoles) began to grow, CD Projekt RED promised to deliver updates to fix the most pressing problems as soon as possible. This resulted in first hotfixes, the last of which made a lot of improvements. Another such update for Cyberpunk 2077 (marked with the number 1.06) is now available, as announced on the game's official website.

Compared to the previous patch, hotfix 1.06 is very modest - the list of changes comes down to just three points. However, two of them should be considered as critical. The first one concerns better memory usage and more stable operation of the game on consoles. Given that it's the releases on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One that are the most criticisized, any information about reducing the risk of forced shutdown on these devices is good news (as long as it's true).

The second point is as "small" as it is important. The developers have finally increased the 8MB limit on the size of save game data file in the PC version of Cyberpunk 2077. So far, exceeding this limit would have resulted in the impossibility of loading the game, which meant the potential loss of many hours of progress. Unfortunately, hotfix 1.06 does not change anything about already damaged save files. Additionally, the problem with disappearing Dum Dum during Second Conflict has been solved.

The small number of changes may be surprising after a large update on 1.05. We can guess that CD Projekt considered these changes to be crucial enough to make them appear in December. The new year will probably bring with it another hotfixes, but the creators also announced two huge updates. The first one will be released in January and hopefully we'll be able to say goodbye to a throng of bugs and issues that are plaguing Cyberpunk 2077.
