Cyberpunk 2077 Not Coming to Game Pass Anytime Soon

It looks like it'll be along time before Cyberpunk 2077 appears in Xbox Game Pass. Earlier rumors were denied by Adam Kicinski.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • Adam Kicinski referred to the rumors, according to which Cyberpunk 2077 is to appear in Xbox Game Pass;
  • He dismissed them;
  • It is still too early for the game to appear in this type of service.

Just over a week ago, an interesting rumor circulated the web. It claimed that Cyberpunk 2077 will soon be available in Xbox Game Pass, which was allegedly indicated by the use of a clip from the game in the promo material for the xCloud service. However, we already know that we'll have to wait a bit longer for the introduction of CD Projekt RED's game to the group of titles available within the subscription.

The topic was raised during yesterday's Q&A session, organized on the occasion of summarizing the financial activity of the CD Projekt Group. CEO Adam Kicinski spoke on the matter.

"We consider every business opportunity, but this kind of subscription model is good only in a specific moment of a product's life cycle, so not so early.

The Witcher 3 was available in a subscription for a while, but each time we have to carefully analyze the profits and costs and compare them with the sales results, so it's a data-driven decision. For now, it's too early for Cyberpunk."

It seems that players who would like to play Cyberpunk 2077 in the near future, will have to simply buy it. Currently, this is the only way to experience the title. It'll be a while before we see CD Projekt RED's game in services such as Xbox Game Pass.
