Cyberpunk 2077 Mod Improves Sound Quality
A modification that improves sound mixing in Cyberpunk 2077 appeared on Nexus Mods. The creator edited about 800 audio files in total.
One of the many afflictions that plague Cyberpunk 2077 has just been remedied by the players. A mod that fixes the problem of bad sound mixing in the game appeared on Nexus Mods. It could be observed, among others, in nightclubs. Music playing inside the club was so loud that it drowned out dialogue lines spoken by all NPCs. The patch eliminates hundreds of other cases of this type (a total of about 800 sound files have been improved). This is what its author called Floyd2099 said about his work:
"(...) Loud audio on a nightclub will be still loud, but now can now listen what other people are telling you! Combat music is still loud either(...). This list of what I did is still pretty long, (...) but don't forget that the purpose is more to make a proper audio mix."
The creator of the mod indicated that he only took care of improving the currently existing audio files, and not adding the missing ones, for example, the sound of closing car doors. More information from the author and the necessary files along with installation tutorial can be found here. The add-on weighs 11 GB, so if we have slower internet connection, we'll have to be patient.
The mod immediately appealed to the players. Some commenters on Reddit call it one of the three best mods for Cyberpunk 2077 to be released so far. However, some players have pointed out minor issues with the mod, so using it involves some risk. Meanwhile, the latest update from CD Projekt RED was Friday's 1.12 hotfix.
