Cyberpunk 2077 Devs Admit Difficult Moments in Anniversary Video
Studio responsible for, among other things, the hit game Cyberpunk 2077, has released an interesting video. In the course of the material, employees reminisce about the good and the slightly worse moments in CD Projekt RED's history.
CD Projekt Group is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and on this occasion, the company, from time to time, organizes interesting activities for its fans. This time, the developers have set their sights on material that, in fact, should have appeared much earlier.
During the 18-minute video published on the official channel of CD Projekt RED on YouTube, both employees and heads of the studio revealed many interesting facts from the company's history. And although you'll see some funny bits at the beginning (and even learn the history of the word "RED" in the studio's name), things change when (around the 4:20 mark) the question about the most difficult moments is asked.
That's when the head of production and technology, Pawel Zawodny, emphasized that it was definitely the launch of Cyberpunk 2077. He also added that it involved "a lot of hard work and a lot of stress".. He was seconded by Adam Badowski, head of the development studio and one of the first people at CD Projekt RED. He admitted that frankly, he was "devastated personally".
It's hardly surprising, by the way, as the developers, like the players, had huge expectations for the title - composer, Marcin Przybylowicz believed that the ratings of Cyberpunk will oscillate at 90% after its release..
In turn, campaign director, Philipp Weber added that the company "always tries to make its games perfect, but in this case it was impossible to achieve that perfection.".
Nevertheless hope is still smoldering among team members that Cyberpunk 2077 will be remembered as a great title, and not a colossal mistake.
"I sincerely hope that we will get to the point where we can think about Cyberpunk with greater pride than we do now," Jason Slama said on the material.
We, too, keep our fingers crossed that the troubles of CD Projekt RED come to an end, and the company celebrates only triumphs.
