Cyberpunk 2077 Bigger Than Lord of the Rings
We have a number of interesting details about the script of CD Projekt RED's latestwork - Cyberpunk 2077. It turns out that in terms of sheer story volume, the title can compete even with several-volume novel cycles.
IN A NUTSHELL:
- Cyberpunk 2077 has 73,789 dialogue lines, which consist of 2,661,122 characters without spaces or 590,480 words;
- This means that in terms of sheer volume, CD Projekt RED's game is bigger than The Lord of the Rings.
A guide that was sent to reviewers of Cyberpunk 2077 reveals a lot of numbers related to the game's script. It turns out that if one counted the number of words in CD Projekt RED's latest work, it would be larger than many books - including the well-known fantasy series The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien.
In the English version of Cyberpunk 2077 we will find a total of 73,789 dialogue lines (of which 7959 are the lines chosen by the player). This translates into 2,661,122 characters without spaces and 590,480 words. For comparison, the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy combined with the preceding Hobbit consists of 576,459 words. Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged has 561,996 words.
It is worth noting that the game is less impressive when compared with Red Dead Redemption 2 - developers from Rockstar Games reported at the time that over half a million dialogue lines were written and recorded for their work .
It should also be added that the dialogues in Cyberpunk 2077 are often different in the case of the male and female V versions, and in such situations they are counted separately.
Interestingly, if you wanted to listen to all the dialogues in the game in all available languages, it would take you - just - 466 hours. But I think it's better to just play the game.
