Cult of the Lamb - How to Fix Hatching Eggs and Hatchery Bug
There is a glitch with hatcheries and eggs in Cult of the Lamb. Find out what can you do to fix it below.
The 1.3.0 update to Cult of the Lamb called Sins of the Flesh added a lot of new content to the game. One of the implemented features is a system for breeding followers, which was highly requested by the community. Getting and hatching an egg requires new structures: a Mating Tent where two followers are assigned and a Hatchery where an egg should be placed to get offspring. However, some players have reported issues with the second step of the process. In this guide we explain the glitch and the currently known workaround.
Cult of the Lamb - How to Fix Hatching Eggs and Hatchery bug
The glitch in question causes the egg to be frozen in the hatching animation, even though time passes in the background. What is more, Hatchery music keeps playing during other activities in game, and even after returning to the title screen. The only way to make the soundtrack play properly is to restart Cult of the Lamb.
The problem seems to affect the first or one of the first eggs that are about to hatch in your game. This means that it could occur with the very first one you get from breeding your followers, or with any of the first batch of eggs if they all become ready simultaneously. For example, if you get two eggs in Hatcheries at the same time, the second one may freeze when you try to hatch it.
There seems to be no certain way to get the first, glitched egg to work. For some players, exiting the game, hatching a second egg next, then coming back to the first has fixed the issue, but not for everyone.
The issue is likely to be patched in the future. For now, the best way to proceed is to leave your broken egg and Hatchery alone while waiting for the fix, and continue breeding your followers using another structure.
