CrossfireX Devs Apologize for Game's Condition at Launch
Sooro „Mr. Boo” Boo from Smilegate admitted that there is no excuse for the dire state of CrossfireX at launch. Fortunately, fixes are on the way.
The debut of CrossfireX on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S consoles was anything but a success. Sooro "Mr. Boo" Boo, creative director of Smilegate, apologized for the problems during the game's launch.
CrossfireX without excuses
The developers acknowledged that CrossfireX players deserve more than just a list of planned changes. Therefore, on the game's official website there is a post, in which Boo admitted that there is no excuse for the game's poor condition:
"There will always be bugs and various issues when it comes to video games, but we felt that CrossfireX’s current issues had to do more with the core fundamentals of the game and that it felt like we’ve betrayed the trust of our players. There is simply no excuse for this [CrossfireX's condition - ed. note]."
Patches and fixes on the way
The developers have already taken to fixing CrossfireX. On the launch day they fixed an issue with connecting to servers in multiplayer mode.
Boo also mentioned three items that the developers are working on now. These include:
- Fixing a glitch related to CAR-4 that causes it to exit aim down sights mode when pointing the camera down;
- Nerfing Boogeyman, who will lose, among other things, the automatic health regeneration;
- Fixing a sensitivity issue with the controllers by reducing recoil and enhancing the aim assist system, which will be implemented earlier than announced (i.e. before March).
However, the post does not mention problems with access to story campaign in Xbox Game Pass.
At the same time, Boo assured that the developers will make every effort to regain the trust of players. Considering the few, but very negative reviews (vide Metacritic), Smilegate has a lot of work ahead of them.
